There’s an interesting connection between sport and today’s announcement that Barack Obama won the Nobel.  One of the more progressive bodies in the world acted as sport organizations do when drafting new players into their leagues, and that’s a good thing.

In drafts, it has become common for teams to select players on the basis of  potential, which may not be available in the near term.  On occasion, with some tenure and time to become acclimated to their new sport climate, the athlete bests his or her projections and truly transcends their sport.

Obama has quickly opened up dialog in the world.  He is brilliant,  and I think the Nobel Organization made an extremely bold move today.  Let’s be patient while he gets acclimated, and gets through a really rough first year as a leader.
